Goal Setting 2021

Kia ora! Once again for term 2, I've created another goal-setting document for term 2. Below, you can read about my subjects this year, my learning work-ons, and the ambitions I wish to have done by the end of this term.

I usually like to set a high standard for myself but in the past, sometimes when I would force myself to do too much I'd just end up putting pressure on myself and not getting anywhere. So, this term I've decided to do what I think will help me best.

What are your goals and ambitions for this year?

Making Ends Meet

Kamusta! During the lockdown, all the year 7 & 8's had to complete Math, Writing and Reading activities. For Math, we had to create a meal plan for a family of 4. We had to decide what everyone was going to be eating for a week. In the slide, I wrote down the exact measurements of every ingredient and wrote down how to make the meal.

Learning Story

So far this term in Hurumanu Science we have been looking
at different types of experiments.
Our first ever experiment was the  ‘Dirty Water Experiment’.
I was excited about the experiment since it was my first ever one.
We had to get the dirty water to become clean by pouring the water into a group of sand and pebbles. According to the teacher,
my group had the clearest water.

My favourite experiment was the ‘Scones’ experiment
because we got to baking and use our own imagination.
We could use different ingredients to test out which scone was the best.
Lemonade tasted the best for me! The
Baking soda scone was the driest and the vilest.

My least favourite experiment was the ‘Crystal’ experiment.
Although the crystals were fun to make mine didn’t make any crystals.
I don’t blame it on myself or someone else because
I decided to make the sugar one and they’re the hardest ones to make.

I like experiments where you bake or when there is an explosion! My
favourite experiment (that we didn’t do this term) is
‘Elephant Toothpaste’! It’s usually more fun when there is a
big amount of mixture because then the explosion is bigger and better.
