Ending Art...

In Art Hurumanu these 8 weeks we worked on one main thing combining other little things. At around week 2-3 we got our task which was making our own stop-motion. We got told that the theme was “Manaakitanga”(Kindness).

We got sorted into groups and decided whether we should do our stop-motion on a whiteboard or if we should use clay. Our group consisted of Paige, Sahara and I, and since Sahara is a great sketcher we decided to do whiteboard!

After a few days, we met again for another session of Art. We wrote ideas for our story and what it could be about. Since the stop-motion was all about Kindness our group made up a story about Emma, a girl who loses her parents due to a car crash and when she returns back to school her best friend, Willow, helps her get through the tough time.

Ever since then we worked continuously on our stop-motion but Sahara would draw for the group but since she was away in Nelson Paige and I had to draw ourselves. Our drawing was nowhere as good as her’s, but we had to finish the video since Learning Conferences were coming up.

Our video is not finished but we tried our best to complete it!

  1. Hi Shreya

Thank you for reflecting on your learning today! I like how you shared the part of the video you did have done. I know there were some days where work wasn't shared properly and it was a bit of a difficult time but I think you were awesome at self managing during these times and you showed a lot of resilience.

Great job, and I look forward to our next hurumanu together!
