2. Design and make draw Rover

1. Rover facts

Why do we have each of the parts?
Fill in the table below.

Name:
Purpose:
Wheels
The Rover needs wheels to move around. It's very rocky and mountainy on Mars, so it will definitely need wheels.
Solar Panel
The Rover needs solar panels so it can regain energy with the help of the Sun. That's helped the Rover move around and do what it's supposed to do.
Laser
The Rover needs a Laser so it can detect in the distance. They are like eyes.
Camera
The Rover needs a camera so it can take photos and send them to NASA so they can figure out what it's like in Mars!
Shovel, rock pick, drill
If the Rover sees a big rock in Mars it can drill through. It can dig through the dirt with a shovel.

2. Make a Mars Rover that has the following:
  • 6 wheels
  • 1 camera
  • 1 shovel, rock pick, at the front
  • 1 solar panel
  • 1 laser that points at the ground

( Upload a photo of your mars rover onto your blog.)

Atmosphere
  1.  The atmosphere is made up of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and smaller amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, helium, and neon.
  2. Roughly 80% of the weight of the atmosphere is located in the troposphere, which is the layer closest to the earth.

  1. Mars atmosphere is not yet hospitable to humans
  2. Scientists think we might be able to live on Mars in the upcoming years.
Surface
  1. Smooth, Rocky, Mountainy, everything basically.
  2. Earth is the so far the only planet known to humankind that has Water.
  1. Mars surface has many holes, just like the moon.
  2. Mars surface is very dry and made up of dirt.

  1. Hey Shreya,
This looks like a really fun thing to do! You have lots of information and I like the way that you have included links to your sources. Did you get to build one? And if so, do you have any pictures? It would be really great if you could make the table fit nicely on the page (maybe screenshot it?).
Look forward to hearing from you,
    Miss Morgan

    1. Hey Miss Morgan,
We got to build one but it was complicated. Elisha Mae (My friend) has taken the photos and not sent them yet because yesterday, for period 5 she had to go to ESOL. I will tell her to send the photos.
I will also try to fix the chart problem.
      Thank you!
      Shreya
