Real Crystals?
Right now we're going to make some crystals! No their not real. Well they are, but they're not the expensive kind of crystals. We have to get into a group of 3. Somehow we're in a group of 4. Elisha Mae, Risha, Shalizeh and me have decided to do one each, well nearly. Risha has already done this experiment at home that's why she decided to help us out.
I decided to do the sugar crystal.
The mixture for the sugar crystal was a wee bit complicated. You have too keep adding in sugar into the water until it doesn't dissolve anymore.
Sugar Crystals
Ratio: 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup water
Materials
1) Cup
2) Spoon
3) Salt
4) String
5) Popsicle stick
Process
Step 1: Get your cup or glass
Step 2: Put 4 tablespoons of sugar and 1 1/2 cups water. Put it in your cup or glass and mix.
Step 3: Mix until the sugar dissolves. When the sugar has dissolved add 4 more tablespoons.
Step 4: After the sugar doesn't dissolve in the water get your popsicle stick.
Step 5: Get your string. Tie the piece of string around the popsicle.
Step 6: Now dip the popsicle in the water and leave it in the water.
Reflection
Our crystals are not done, they should be by our next Science session (Thursday). I'm really excited to see how they will turn out, I wonder if I will be able to eat mine since it's just sugar and water.
Look out for part 2 coming out on Thursday!
