The Big Christchurch Plan
As a part of our Community Impact Project (CIP) we have been separated into 4 areas. The 4 areas are the Christchurch community, Hornby community, Hornby High School community and the Global community.
I am working with Risha and Elisha Mae for this project. We have a plan to make money. We can do that off Mufti Day, a sausage sizzle, an extravaganza where people have to buy tickets 1-2 days before the extravaganza then they can come visit anytime they prefer. Spend their tickets on games and buy things that are related to the Christchurch community. We can make these little products with the help of Hornby Primary students. We will have to contact them and make sure their going to be able to help us in this. Me and Risha will contact Miss Beer so we can get Voices With Soul to perform. We will also contact other teachers (I do not know their name) so we can get the Kapahaka group and the Pasifika groups performing as well. We will give all the money we have gathered from the event and give it to a group of people which include, Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House, City Council and many, many more. We're not quite sure what group but definitely one of them.
The planning is just getting started and I hope this event happens early next term or maybe even late this term. The planning is going great and smooth, hopefully it stays like that! Fingers crossed!
Reflection
I am enjoying doing this fun event, I feel like its going to be great! If you're wondering why I haven't mentioned the homeless people at all, there's a good reason. Homeless people. How many have you seen? Not many. You might've seen a maybe a handful. But, what do the homeless people LOOK like?
Raggedy old clothes? Anyone could have raggedy old clothes.
They look like they haven't showered in ages? Anyone could look they haven't showered in ages. I'd get mud thrown at by my brother and I will look pretty disgusting. That doesn't make me homeless.
People sit on the footpath with a board to scam you (Sometimes). They just want some extra money. The thing is... no one LOOKS like a homeless person. Well that's my personal idea to be honest.

If you have any feedback about the extravaganza and what we should change about it PLEASE comment! we would LOVE your feedback.
